As the pre-school is a charity run organisation, over the course of the academic year the pre-school parent management committee arrange many events and activities to help generate funds for the pre-school directly and other charities.
There are many ways to get involved, here are just a few examples of what we get up to…
- Christmas Cards – The children have great fun producing festive artwork to be turned into Christmas cards, mugs, wrapping paper and more.
- World Book Day – The children come to pre-school dressed as their favourite book character.
- Easter Egg Hunt – The pre-school runs this event, not only for the pre-school families but also to the wider community. The event is an Easter egg hunt around the village, spotting Easter eggs decorated by the pre-school children themselves.
- Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Events
- Toddle Waddle – In spring/summer the children take part in a sponsored 1 mile walk around the village. They are presented with a treat, certificate and medal at the end!
- Nametags – Labelling all belongings is our top tip! Parents can order tags online from www.MyNametags.com and using the School ID 44915.
- EasyFundraising – All you need to do is: 1. Go to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/houghton-and-wyton-pre-school/ and join for free. 2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first (or use the app) to find the site you want and start shopping. 3. After you’ve checked out, the retailer will make a donation to Houghton And Wyton Pre-School at no extra cost to you whatsoever!
